Rabbi Eli Newman grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, where his parents direct the local Chabad center serving the Alexandria and Arlington area. He pursued his rabbinical studies at yeshivas in New Haven, Connecticut; Brunoy, France; and Brooklyn, New York.

Throughout his years of study, Rabbi Newman dedicated his summers and holidays to serving Jewish communities across the United States and around the world, gaining meaningful experience in Jewish education and outreach. After completing his studies, he served a two-year outreach internship in New Haven. He received his rabbinical ordination at the age of 23.

Nechama Newman is originally from Plano, Texas. She attended Beth Rivkah High School in Brooklyn, New York, and continued her studies at Beth Chana Seminary in Tzfat, Israel. She has extensive experience in Jewish education and outreach, including leadership roles in camps and programs across the world.

Rabbi Eli and Nechama met in New York and married in February 2023.
